The six-part documentary series shows the exciting world of up-and-coming talents in motorbike racing who are seeking to make a name for themselves on the Grand Prix scene via the medium of the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup.

For the past 17 years, the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup has been the perfect launch pad for young racers. Here, 15-year-olds can seize the opportunity of a lifetime – but the road to the top is fraught with mental pressures and physical hardships.

Behind the scenes

Born Racers’ takes you behind the scenes and shows the life trials that these talented youngsters go through. You get an insight into the enormous pressure, the doubts and the rivalries, but also the friendships that are forged on the path to success.

Pedro Acosta, MotoGP™ Rookie of the 2024 season, remembers his time in the Rookies Cup well: “It was a great time where I made great friends and had a lot of fun, but I also suffered a lot.” The Rookies Cup is a championship that has attracted worldwide attention and produced many successful riders.

Success stories and big names

There are currently 29 former Red Bull Rookies competing in the major world championships, including nine in MotoGP™. The series has already produced more than 200 victories and nine world champions in Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP™.
Brad Binder
The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider is one of the three top riders produced by the Red Bull Rookies Cup: he shares the distinction of having posted 17 victories with Miguel Oliveira and Johann Zarco.

Johann Zarco
Johann became the first ever Red Bull Rookies Cup champion in 2007. His tally of 17 victories and two Moto2 world championship titles makes him one of the most successful French motorbike racers of all time.
Pedro Acosta
The Spaniard competed in the Red Bull Rookies Cup in 2020. In 2023, he won the Moto2 title and immediately graduated to MotoGP. This year, he is riding in the premier class for the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 Team.
Miguel Oliveira
The Portuguese rider has been runner-up in both the Moto3 (2015) and Moto2 (2018) classes. He has stood on the top rung of the podium a total of 17 times in his career
