The Formula 1 Rolex Großer Preis von Österreich 2022 is the biggest motorsport event of the year by some distance in Austria. The crowds of fans are quite simply massive and purpose-built tent cities are packed with campers whose ingenuity knows no bounds.
The dominant colour along the stands as well as at the campsites is orange. Many of folk in orange travelled for two days in camper vans from Holland to Austria to cheer on their countryman Max Verstappen. From swimming pools to bouncy castles to snow cannons, there’s almost nothing you can’t find at the pink, orange, red, yellow, violet, green and blue campsites.
Many of the campers have been preparing for the F1 weekend at the Red Bull Ring for a year. They are extremely well equipped as a result – with everything from coffee mugs to bikinis in the design of their own fan clubs, while some have even taken bread baking machines to bake fresh bread in daily. The campsites are all within walking distance of the Red Bull Ring. This allows the fans to enjoy the motorsport atmosphere 24 hours a day.
