#AustrianGP 2024: Take-off for the Flying Bulls

MotoGP fans at the Red Bull Ring can look forward to some impressive extras on the programme.

Shortly before the world’s top riders vie with each other for trophies on the Red Bull Ring circuit, attention will turn to the skies above. As in previous years, the experienced pilots of the Flying Bulls formation team will be presenting a sensational air show that will take spectators’ breath away. On show will be some remarkable aircraft such as the Alpha Jet, which is equipped with the latest avionics (i.e. on-board electrical and electronic devices).

Aircraft on display:

  • T28 Trojan: Year of construction 1955, Empty weight 3.165 kg, Maximum Speed 630km/h
  • Alpha Jet (2 jets): Year of construction 1980/81, Empty weight 3.515 kg, Maximum Speed 1000 km/h
  • TAH1-Bell Cobra: Year of construction 1967, Empty weight 2.993 kg, Maximum Speed350 km/h

On Saturday, Dario Costa will be performing amazing aerobatic tricks in his Zivko Edge 540. In October 2021, Costa got his name into the record books with his flight through the Çatalca Tunnel in Istanbul in the cockpit of his beloved Zivko Edge 540. No one else had ever flown a stunt plane through a tunnel – until the Italian came along and set a new world record in Istanbul with a speed of 245 km/h.
