On the weekend of 28th – 30th June, the Red Bull Ring will be hosting the highest echelon of the sport, and you can be there to watch it all live! Tickets are still available for last-minute purchase.
Max Verstappen and his challengers will be getting straight down to business on Friday. After a 60-minute practice session, the sprint qualifying (formerly sprint shootout) follows in the afternoon. In SQ1 (12 minutes) and SQ2 (10 minutes), the drivers are allowed to use only one set of medium tyres each. The soft compound comes into play in SQ3 (8 minutes).
The sprint itself over a distance of 100 kilometres (free choice of tyres, with no mandatory pit stop) is scheduled for Saturday morning. The winner is awarded eight points, the runner-up seven and so on. Qualifying will take place three or maximum four hours after the end of the sprint. The actual Grand Prix race on Sunday (71 laps) remains unaffected.
The first of these begins with the start of sprint qualifying on Friday and ends with the sprint race on Saturday. The setup may only be changed again after the sprint has finished. The second parc fermé begins at the start of qualifying. Until the race on Sunday, the teams are only allowed to make minimal changes to the car, i.e. the setup is ‘frozen’ again.

You can save yourself a lot of hassle if you travel to the event by bus, train or bike. On the race weekend, you can hop on one of the shuttle buses at more than 120 pick-up points in different federal states and be driven to the Red Bull Ring in comfort and at low cost – and home again, of course. Additional express shuttles will be in operation on race Sunday.
