The South Circuit (Südkurs) counts as the ‘little brother’ of the Grand Prix circuit. At 2.4 kilometres, it is about half the distance, but it is no less spectacular than the track configuration on which the MotoGP riders will be burning rubber in just under two weeks’ time. Shortly before reaching the Münzer chicane, the South Circuit makes a right turn. This is followed by a flowing right-left combination and then back onto the main track before Turn 7. The familiar Red Bull Ring corners then await, including the Jochen Rindt.
Fact check: South Circuit
If you are wondering whether a driving experience on the Red Bull Ring – South Circuit is worthwhile, the answer is most decidedly yes, especially if you find the prospect of the full Grand Prix circuit somewhat daunting.
